My place to make an impact

My place to make an impact

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Trust is my place to make better mental health services for young people a reality. We know this isn’t always easy and we have more to do, but individually and as a team, we can make a real positive impact.

This is my place to meet a need that has never been greater. We're rising to the challenge of mental health with the first community and inpatient mental health service of its kind, backed by major investment in our facilities at Parkview, our regional inpatient unit for child and adolescent mental health services..

This is my place to change lives and save lives. Every day, I get to see the impact we can have as a source of trust, helping young people and their families understand their situation and work towards recovery in the best way.

My place to feel at home

My place to feel at home

This is my place to work and learn as part of a team without borders, where as part of Forward Thinking Birmingham, we work with key agencies and charities to raise the bar for mental health services in Birmingham.

I’m at the heart of a multi-disciplinary team built around the needs of the young people we serve – psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, and therapists, plus specialists from our general adolescent unit and specialist Eating Disorder Unit. It’s a ‘one team’ mindset where we come together to deliver the best care we can.

My place to grow a thriving career

My place to grow a thriving career

This is my place for my next challenge – enabled by a preceptorship programme that’s built around my needs and the mentorship of people around me. It’s opened opportunities to develop in a range of specialist areas, enabling me to put my clinical and legal knowledge into practice and be a voice to our service users.

BWC understands we lead busy lives and offer flexible working hours and shift patterns to provide us with a greater work/life balance.
