Ad hoc volunteering

If you’d like to get involved, but are unable to volunteer on a regular basis, consider joining our team of Ad hoc Volunteers. Your details will be held in our Volunteer Bank and, from time to time, we’ll write to you with opportunities to get involved in one-off projects or opportunities, ranging from fundraising to supporting events.

If you’re particularly interested in fundraising for us, please contact our Fundraising team directly. Otherwise, please apply online to be an Adult Volunteer and choose ad hoc volunteering.

Snow Angels

When we have a prolonged cold snap or experience exceptional snowfall driving conditions can be difficult. We don’t have the option of closing due to adverse weather, but during such times it can be difficult for our teams, including our doctors and nurses, to make it to work.

To keep our hospitals and services running smoothly, we’re looking for 4x4 drivers to join our pool of volunteer Snow Angels, ready to lend a hand when the winter weather takes a turn for the worse.

You’ll need to be over 18; have a full, clean driving licence; and you’ll have a suitable vehicle with up-to-date tax, insurance and MOT.

In order to get you signed up, we’ll need the following details from you so we can get you approved for the scheme.

  • Your Driver’s Licence, valid for use in the UK
  • Your vehicle registration
  • Your insurance details
  • A current clear basic DBS certificate

You don’t need all this information to hand now, just register your interest below and we’ll be in touch in a few days with further instructions. If you haven’t got a DBS check, don’t worry. We can guide you through the process.
